BCM stands for Baptist Collegiate Ministries and is one of the many campus ministries offered on the campus of Northeastern State University. I became semi-active in the BCM after I came to college in August of 2002, mainly because my best friend Stephanie Hilburn was active and had encouraged me to get involved. BCM has many ways for one to get involved. There's freshman family groups for the new freshman to get involved in as a way to adjust to college life, there's the drama and ensemble teams that travel all over the state to different churches, there is have midweek missions every other wednesday afternoon, in addition to lots of other stuff. Monday night is when BCM has its main service called impact. Our praise team leads what you might call worship time, and a speaker from out of town comes to give a message. I have learned to not like using the term worship to denote merely singing at church, because worship should be a lifestyle. This fall we are going to have a thursday night service in addition to the monday one. This will be an informal one led totally by students, including the speaking. This is for people who can't come to the monday night service due to schedule conflicts. To see the BCM website, clickHERE!
