Fraternities Move In On Campus

While some universities do not provide housing for their respective Greek organizations, NSU has taken the initiative to provide optional housing opportunities for Greeks who would not be able to have houses otherwise.
For many years, University Housing and several Greek sororities have worked together in reserving specific housing options for the Greek community. Currently, four sororities reside on floors within the Leoser Center and have individual floors partially reserved for their use.
This year the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity is the first to join the on-campus life and has taken up residence on the fifth floor of Logan Hall.
“We’ve housed sororities for years. Why couldn’t we house the fraternities as well?” said Tammie Willis, Hall Manager for High Rises.
Members of the fraternity are proud to be on-campus residents and see positive things for the future.
“We feel that we are positive members of the overall residence community and a positive impact on the residents of Logan Hall,” said Jake Prill, Lamda Chi Alpha member.
Other fraternities have begun making plans to move into the dorms and take up a floor as well.
“This is a great idea and would be great for fall rush as well. It’s a place to keep all of our stuff stored and a place to show how much we pride ourselves in our respectable fraternities,” said Richie Perrin, Kappa Sigma member.
Living on the assigned floor, Greek residents will be charged the same as any other on-campus student.
Even though there is no official Greek housing on campus, this is a great opportunity for the fraternities to become a part of the on-campus life, as it is at every other university.
