2003 SWFA Meeting

Dear Colleague:

COME JOIN US IN Houston!!!  

The Southwestern Finance Association invites you to participate in our 2003 Annual Meeting.  The 
meeting is schedule for March 4-8 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Houston, Texas.  Research papers
covering all major finance areas will be considered.  In addition to paper presentations, the 
sessions will include panels and tutorials.  Academicians, practitioners and others interested 
in finance are invited to attend and participate.

AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING PAPERS
Up to seven monetary prizes will be awarded.  The Southwestern Finance Association will award 
three $1,000 prizes for outstanding papers.  In addition, the Southwestern Finance Association 
will award up to two $500 awards for top doctoral student papers.  Also, a $1,000 prize is 
being offered by the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII). Irwin/McGraw Hill will 
present a distinguished paper award.  All submissions will be considered for these awards.

RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS
Persons interested in presenting research papers should submit four (4) copies of the 
participation form along with completed manuscripts or abstracts.

SPECIAL SESSIONS/PANELS/TUTORIALS
Those wishing to organize a special session, a panel discussion, or a tutorial should send four
(4) copies of the submission form along with copies of a proposal describing the topic and 
format, a description of the proposed presenters backgrounds and the likelihood of obtaining 
these presenters, and an explanation of why SWFA members would be interested in attending the 
session.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE/DISCUSSANTS/SESSION CHAIR
Those interested in serving as members of the program committee, discussants or chairing 
a session should send a copy of the participant form indicating your area of interest. Send 
submission materials and relevant participation forms postmarked by September 6, 2003 to:
