| The Social Work Program offers the undergraduate BSW degree on both the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses. The BSW degree is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The BSW degree prepares students for a beginning professional level of generalist social work practice. Graduates of the program find employment in a diverse range of settings. The BSW degree also prepares graduates to enter accredited MSW programs as an advanced standing student, which is a fast track to the master's degree. The social work degree is a 54 hour program, no minor is required. Student's participate in an internship or practicum during their senior year. There is an active student organization on both campuses, and NSU sponsors a chapter of Phi Alpha, the national social work honor society. The faculty and staff of the Department are proud of its programs, its students, and its alumni who have made and continue to make significant contributions to the profession of social work. The faculty represents a diversity of backgrounds and professional experience. Faculty maintain a high level of academic and professional involvement which includes research, professional development activities, practice, and consultation. As director of the Department of Professional Studies, I invite you to explore and consider our program for your educational needs.
