The purpose of this Society and of its members is to provide opportunities for professional association, to hold annual meetings, to maintain a directory of Oklahoma linguists, to keep abreast of issues of public importance that relate to language, and make ourselves available for consultation on matters of language policy (Art I, Section 2 By-Laws).

 

Spring meeting:  April 16, 2011, Tahlequah, OK.  The meeting is in conjunction with the 4th Annual Oklahoma Workshop on Native Languages sponsored by the Center for Tribal Studies at Northeastern State University.

SOL held its first official meeting on November 8, 2003. 

Drs. Alice Anderton, Mayrene Bentley, and Marcia Haag are co-founders of SOL.
