Anthropology

Anthropology is a broad discipline, entailing the study of human beings--their evolution and physical nature, and their culture. Anthropology is comparative and interested in all people of the world, both in the past and in the present. A minor in Anthropology is offered at NSU. The minor consists of eighteen hours selected from the following courses: Physical Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Culture and Personality, Ethnology of the American Indian, Field Methods in Ethnology, Language and Culture, Archaeology of North America, Magical Worldview, and Anthropology and Medicine.

Careers in Anthropology

Careers in Anthropology include teaching, research, and administration in both public and private sectors, including such occupations as museum curators, archaeologists, and positions with Native American organizations and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Academic Requirements for the Anthropology Minor at NSU

The Anthropology minor may be earned by completing any 18 semester hours of Anthropology courses.
