V. Lyle Haskins is a native of Washington State who pursued higher education in Oregon, Texas, and Oklahoma. He received his M.A. from the University of North Texas and his Ph.D. from the University of Oklahoma, both degrees in European History. Dr. Haskins joined the NSU faculty in 1968. At Northeastern, twenty-nine years of his career was devoted to academic administration until his retirement in 2004. He began teaching at the college level in 1963 and, during his administrative years taught one class each semester. He continues to teach as Emeritus Professor courses in modern Europe from the 18th to the present century.
