C. Problems and Reports

1. Problems assigned as appropriate to topic.
2. A short report (@ 6 pages) summarizing the history and geology of one Oklahoma Oil/Gas field or one Oklahoma coal mining area will be completed no later than April 29. This report should utilize at least three references and will count the equivalent of one exam.



D. Supplies Needed

1. Pad 8 ½ x 11 Engineering graph paper
2. Engineering ruler
3. Small protractor



E. Attendance Policy
Attendance is required and role will be taken. In order to al low for sickness and emergencies, a maximum of 5 absences will be allowed without penalty. Absences beyond 5 will be penalized by deducting 2% from a students final score for each absence in excess of 5. NSU sponsored events with prior official notification will be the only exception to this policy.

One or more required field trips are planned for this course.


G. Course Grade
Based on total points earned from: - 3 quizzes - problems, exercise and report
Ranked according to the following:

90-100% Highest Total Score = A
80-89% Highest Total Score = B
70-79% Highest Total Score = C
60-69% Highest Total Score = D
<60% Highest Total Score = F



H. Withdrawal Policy
Students who withdraw on or before February 20 will receive a "W" for this class. Students who withdraw after February 20 will receive either a "W" or an "F" based upon their grade as of the date of their withdrawal.
