Dr. Salmon received OD and PhD
degrees from Indiana University and completed a residency at
the college of optometry at Northeastern State University (NSU).
He currently teaches second, third and
fourth year
optometry students monocular and binocular visual perception, visual
optics, research
methodology and clinical optometry. He also supervises student
research projects.
Dr. Salmon's research interests include dry eye, aberrometry, optics of
the eye and visual perception. He is the author of multiple book
chapters and scientific articles, and speaks at
professional meetings in the United States and Japan.
Dr. Salmon has sponsored several student
organizations, including JNSU
(Japanese student's association), Celsior (Japanese hip-hop dance
team), and the Fellowship of Christian
Optometrists. He is actively involved in church and Bible
studies. Other
interests include Japanese studies, Korean studies, traveling, weight
lifting, conditioning and soccer.
