Several weeks later as the warrior's son was riding one of the foals, he took a terrible fall and almost died. At this point in time, the warrior again thought it was unfortunate that his horse had run off.
As the son was still recovering, the tribe went to war
and had severe casualties. If the son had not falling
off the horse, he would have went to war and might have
died like many of the other tribesmen.
At this point in time, the warrior once again thought he
was fortunate that his horse ran away.
I was told the preceding story as a child and have
tried to reproduce as best I could.
I think the moral of the story is clear. That is, what
appears to be an unfortunate event, in the long run may
bring some unforeseen blessing.
Hopefully each of us will take this same attitude towards
life when we are occasionally dealt a bad hand.
