OKAMP-SEM SCHOLARSHIP FOR
UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITIES

NSU is one of eight colleges and universities in Oklahoma to receive funding from the National Science Foundation for the Oklahoma Alliance for Minority Participation in Science, Engineering and Math (OKAMP-SEM) Scholarship.  Each recipient receives $1,500 per academic year ($750 per semester), providing academic requirements are maintained and NSF funding continues.  Scholarship recipients must be underrepresented minorities (American Indian, African American, Hispanic, Alaskan Native or Native Pacific Islander) majoring in one of the following undergraduate disciplines: Math, Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math Computer Science or Dietetics.

As part of the program, OKAMP-SEM scholarship recipients are required to work 50 hours per semester on campus in a field related to their area of study.  In addition OKAMP students are eligible to participate in a summer internship program in research, industry or national laboratories for 40 hours per week and receive an additional $2,500 each.
