HOW IT ALL STARTED

In the spring of 2001 Dan Dayringer was working at Town Branch in Tahlequah when he noticed Todd Leib in the restaurant wearing a rugby jersey. They began talking more and more about what it would be like to start up a rugby program here at NSU, and finally they set out to do just that. While Dan took care of the paperwork, Todd told his friends about the idea. Todd assembled a rag tag bunch of men, and then practices began. The team didn’t know much about the sport at that time, but when the Taber brothers came to school in 2002 they quickly took control as the Coaches and taught everyone about the fine art of Rugby. From then on the team has been led by the Trent and Trevor Taber and has been doing very well.
