If you have already been to one of the Linux Users Group Mettings and have signed in , an account was created for
you on an existing workstation. You will have access to its resources from on campus and from any other machine.
Just download PUTTY and Tight VNC to your L:\ drive and use them to connect.
Detailed instructions on how to use PUTTY and Tight VNC to export a view of the linux desktop to a windows machine on campus
have yet to be written. Any assistance in the matter would be appreciated.
Do you have Linux documentation? Try posting it to our Wiki. The wiki is a valuable resource tool that allows you
to create documentation on the fly and allow anyone to update it to correct mistakes or update when new revisions
of the Docs are required. It takes a bit to learn, but once you do, becomes a very powerful tool. Consider a Wiki
page specifically for a class you are taking. The possibilities are limitless.
We have some lofty goals and tough challenges ahead for the Linux Users Group. Any assistance in giving install
overviews, how-tos or general assistance would most certainly be appreciated.
The Linux Users Group meets immediately following the ACM meeting.
