Non-Traditional Student Organization
Scholarships
The Non-Traditional Student Organization has been approved to create a Scholarship Selection Committee to disburse $5000 in scholarship monies, funded by the Board of Regents.
Applications will be available between December and March each academic year.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for these scholarships, students must meet the following criteria:
- Full-time student at NSU
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Financial need (must be able to qualify for a Pell Grant or provide proof of financial need)
- Student returning to college after a two year break
- Over the age of 24
- Meets the definition of a 'non-traditional student' per the Constitution and Bylaws of NoTSO
- If selected for final review, applicant must submit a brief statement
- Applications must be submitted each year in order to remain eligible
- Must be involved in some form of extracurricular activity
Scholarship Categories
Non-Traditional Academic Scholarship
Academic scholarships will be based on academic performance.
(1) One $1000.00 scholarship
(2) Two $ 500.00 scholarships
Non-Traditional Merit Scholarship
Merit scholarships will be based on need, community service and leadership activities.
(1) One $1000.00 scholarship
(4) Four $ 500.00 scholarships

If you meet the above general requirements and are interested in applying for these scholarships, we encourage you to attend our next meeting to learn more and--from December to March--to pick up an application.
