CATALOG DESCRIPTION:



Advanced study in space planning for commercial and industrial facilities to include the development of related presentation and working drawings.



COURSE OBJECTIVE:

To teach the fundamentals of space planning for commercial architectural projects and how to incorporate designs into a set of working drawings.

Architectural Graphic Standards, AIA (recommended)



INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES:



The expected course outcomes will be realized through a variety of instructional strategies. Those strategies include, but are not limited to the following; demonstration, testing, and group activities.

STUDENT PERFORMANCE ACTIVITIES:



Attendance is expected and required for your successful completion of this course. Three absences will result in a grade reduction of one letter grade. Six or more absences will result in a two letter grade drop. ALL HOMEWORK TURNED IN ONE CLASS PERIOD LATE WILL RECEIVE A 50% DEDUCTION, NO HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED IF TURNED IN LATER THAN ONE CLASS PERIOD.





STUDENT EVALUATION:



Grade will be based upon formal written examinations, periodic quizzes, class participation, and assigned homework.



Homework 25% A - 90-100

Quizzes/participation 10% B - 80-89.99

Major Tests (2) 25% C - 70-79.99

Projects 10% D - 60-69.99

Final 15% F - Below 60

Group project 15%



2. Students are advised that the last date during the semester when they may drop a course with an automatic "W" will be Friday, Sept 29, 2000. If you decide to drop after this date, you will receive the grade you have earned up to the drop date. The grade of "W" will be assigned if your grade is a "D" or higher; and an "F" will be assigned if you stop attending and have not turned in assignments or have not taken scheduled exams prior to the drop date.



3. Students wishing to visit with the professor about their standing in the class may visit him in his office which is located in the Practical Arts Building, Room PA-B6. Office hours indicated above are also posted adjacent to the door.
