- James Wolfe, the NASSW president has been working on getting NASSW recognized by NSU he was unable to do so because of the need of social security numbers of ten people in NASSW, a sheet was then passed around to obtain this information and as soon as this is turned in NASSW can then be recognized as an NSU organization. James also handed out a copy of the NASSW constitution for review and feedback from the members.
- Lauren McDonald and Jaclyn Lee requested that if there were NASSW members who knew of anyone who could print the T-shirts to let them know, they are still in need of a price quote (for long and short sleeve) to get them started. They have however came up with the quote for the shirts, the shirts will be blue and printed in yellow will be the following quote by Goethe, "Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what they are capable of being."
- NASSW’s next fundraiser will be selling suckers and seeking $1.00 donations for a raffle ticket with a chance to win $100.00. NASSW will have a table set up at the University Center for the suckers and raffle tickets and members have volunteered to work in two hour shifts at the table. The dates for this are October 26, 10:00 am ‘til 4:00 pm and October 27, 12:00 pm ‘til 2:00 pm. Brett Hiseley has donated a roll of raffle tickets for this fundraiser. Food Bank Frenzy, NASSW will purchase five hams at the Business Office to be used in the Food Bank Frenzy at a price of $10.00 a piece. Canned Food Drive, NASSW will be sponsoring a canned food drive in November, there will be a large box, donated by Andrea, placed in front of the Social Work programs main office on the third floor of Seminary Hall, everyone is encouraged to participate in this drive and bring non-perishable items, the drive will start November 7 thru November 18
- NASSW will have an e-mail account set-up by Ashley Brown, for members to utilize and provide information, comments and suggestions. The account address will be announced at the next meeting and signs will be posted by the NASSW PR rep, Alison, to pass this information along to all members
- Care and Concern, Tracy Ross was admitted into ICU at Hastings October 12th, and released Oct 13th, Angie will be sending her a card along with Pam Feister whose husband was injured in an accident
