Physical Education Goals 1) to foster
within each child the love of physical activity and play. 2) to instill
in every student a need for physical fitness. 3) to develop
within each child fundamental skills in a variety of sports, games and
recreation which can be used in lifelong activities. 4) to enhance
healthy character traits within every student through individual and team
play. 5) to promote
community building techniques from the beginning until the end of each P.E.
class. This year in the Physical Education
classes at Grimes, there will be more of an emphasis not only on being
active, but also on eating healthy. It is my hope that our students
will desire to stay physically fit (even outside of the P.E. class) and make
healthy food choices. Being fit and eating healthy are two important
aspects of leading a longer, productive and happy life!
Please remember, tennis shoes are required for the
days your child has physical education. Units to be covered in this year’s P.E.
