COMPUTER
FORMAT AND MANUSCRIPT FORM
Revised 1-26-08
Unless I tell you otherwise, do all
out-of-class assignments on computer, using the following format:
- Double-space
the entire document. Do not use
single-spacing or leave extra spaces in any part of the document.
- Use the
standard font Times New Roman 12, in which this document is printed.
- Although
default margins in Word are 1.25 inches, change your margins to one (1)
inch on all four sides of the paper.
- Use only
left justification. Do not justify the
right margin.
- In the
upper left of the first page, use the standard MLA four-line heading (your
first and last name, the instructor’s title and last name, the course
prefix and number, and the due date).
- In the
upper right of each page, beginning with page 1, insert as a header your
last name followed by one space and the page number.
- Indent
each paragraph one-half inch (about five [5] spaces) from the left margin.
