Dear Newspaper and Yearbook Advisers:

Just a reminder that the 41st Annual Northeastern State University Media Day is
Thursday, April 5, 2012 at NSU in the University Center on the Tahlequah campus.

Students may compete for individual writing awards by submitting at least two
and not more than three clips of their work in 17 categories.

Each entry should have an entry sheet stapled on the front of the entries.
The entry sheet should be completed before it is sent to be judge.
Junior college, high school and middle school writers will be judged separately.

If your school is unable to attend this year’s event, please go ahead and submit your
entries. We will return the entries with critiques and all awards.

Each school should nominate an outstanding journalism student and the yearbook or
newspaper adviser. To do so, submit a two-paged, typed, double-spaced letter citing
the nominee's praises by March 7.

The NSU chapter of the Society of Collegiate Journalists will sponsor two writing
competitions at 9:10 a.m. One in news, and one in sports. Each school may enter ONE
PERSON in each competition. All entries should be received by March 7.
