The objectives of the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at
Northeastern State University are for graduates to:
- 1. recognize the interrelationships between the various segments of the hospitality industry;
- 2. develop proficiency in the knowledge and skills associated with the major field of study;
- 3. apply classroom knowledge and skills in an actual work environment;
- 4. develop interpersonal communication skills and augment coursework by participating in campus activities; interacting with members of the hospitality industry through attending trade shows, meetings and conventions and planning meetings and special events;
- 5. develop professional and ethical standards of behavior; and
- 6. view personal growth and development as a life-long process.
