ListServ:

I chose to subscribe to a new listserv that focused on my research interest – retention of minority and underrepresented groups.  This listserv is dedicated to the study of retention.  It can be used to post information that may be of use to educational practitioners or to seek answers to the many challenges faced by these professionals.

Reflection:

EPI's Retention listserv is an international, non-profit think tank dedicated to the study of retention.  I considered this listserv to be a new retention tool in my research interests - increasing the retention and persistence rates of students at the secondary and postsecondary education levels. However, given the low volume of activity on the listserv, I have not benefited from joining.  I had hoped to receive beneficial information on the topic of retention or engage in valuable conversation.  Neither has happened.  This may be due to the recent creation of the listserv.   Subscription procedures are customary and user friendly.

The K-20 RETENTION LISTSERV is designed to be used by personnel around the United States, Canada, and beyond. The listserv can be used to post information that may be of use to educational practitioners or to seek answers to the many challenges faced by these professionals.
