The Alphabet (Ðu Alfubet)

The alphabet has a total of 40 letters divided into 9 vowels and 31 consonants. Four consonants are not used natively in standard American English. There are also at least 10 more vowel combinations called diphthongs and triphthongs that occur frequently in English. Syllabic consonants are indicated with an acute accent.
