1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. This was my very first Jeep. I bought this after my parents bought land on a creek. I needed a 4x4, and one of my parents' friends had one. I bought this Jeep for $700. I did a tune up, replaced the water pump, had the radiator rodded and cleaned, and installed dual exhaust. I put about 3000 miles onto the vehicle. I started smelling a very strong burning oil smell, which I just attributed to the leaking head gasket. But actually, my rear pinion seal had started leaking, and leaked out all my differential fluid. I drove it until it siezed. I learned the price of checking everything when you smell burning oil. I did this a couple weeks before I found the 88 Grand Wag, and since then this Jeep has just been a parts wehicle. But now, it's slated to get missing components from the two parts jeeps just to get it running, so it can be used at the creek as a utility vehicle.
