Many of your College of Education projects may cover your NCATE/NCTE Standards as well. The Learning Project is one exampl= e. Your C= OE C&W Portfolio will fulfill NCTE 5.2.3 student-teaching portfolio. .Your “English Educa= tion Project” stored on wo= rkable RW CD’s will contain fi= ve sub-folders, one for each of the major NCTE categories described in the NCATE/NCTE checklist: 1-Structure of the Basic Program,<o:p></o:p> 2-Attitudes for English Language Arts, 3-Knowl= edge of English Language Arts, <o:p></o:p> 4-Pedagogy for English Language Art= s, and 5-Field-Based Experiences in E= nglish Language Arts. Be certain that RW CD’s work before you hand them in. The deadline for<= /span> submitting your English Education Project is the day of the College of Education’s Seminar V on the Tahlequah campus during your Full Intern semester. Your “Self-Evaluation Rubric” that you complete is submitted = in hard copy at that time also. = You should keep copies on CD’s, jump drives, and “L” drive as= you create, change, or make additions to your English Education Project .<o:p></o:p> </= span> <o:p></o:p></span= > &nb= sp; English teachers are natural “savers,” but you will be saving specific materials verifying your success meeting in the NCTE Standards. A copy of the Standards is availab= le on another English Education link. Print a copy and keep one handy as you move through the program. Materials you generate in your Eng= lish classes are called supporting artifacts and must be archived electronically. Examples may include course assignments, lesson plans, highlighted sections of your transcript, literary analysis, learning projec= ts, MLA documented works, annotated bibliographies, graded papers, self-reflections, observations, power point presentations or other materials that “prove” that= you have fulfilled a specific NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) Matrix Standard. The NCTE is the recognized professional association for secon= dary English majors. In addition, the video segment chosen for this discourse analysis project used Burke’s Pentad as a tool to discover the purposes behind language use presented in the transcript. I received an A for this assignment.
