announces new faculty

The department of Social Sciences is pleased to welcome two new political scientists to our faculty.
Dr. David Livingstone, Assistant Professor, has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alberta, Canada; and a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. in Politics from the University of Dallas. Most recently Livingstone has served as the Assistant Graduate Dean at the University of Dallas. Livingstone will focus much of his attention on various aspects of political theory.
Nov. 4 Livingstone chaired the “political theory” panel at this year’s Oklahoma Political Science Association meeting, to be hosted at NSU.
The following day, on a trip made possible by the Faculty Development Council, Livingstone went to the west coast to attend the Pacific Northwest Political Science Association Conference in Portland, Oregon. He presented some of his research on the 18th century political philosopher, Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
Dr. Penny Pardoe, Assistant Professor, has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Contemporary History from River College, Nashua, New Hampshire; and a Master of Arts in International Relations and Intelligence and a Ph.D. in Contemporary Politics and History from Salford University, Salford, United Kingdom.
Most recently she has been Visiting Faculty Fellow at Tbilisi State University in the Republic of Georgia. Dr. Pardoe’s contributions to the political science program will concentrate primarily in comparative politics, international relations, and regional politics.
In addition, she will sponsor the department’s Model United Nations program.
