Conaway Car Wash This year’s annual car wash was held at Wal-Mart in Tahlequah, Ok. We had it on October 1st which was a Saturday morning hoping to get as many people as possible. Most of the chapter was able to show up, which made the work and the day go by faster. We even got the local car dealership to be involved, we washed every car they sold for $10 a car. All the hard work paid off and we made a little over $130. AEA,

Verbos Preparation
for Evaluations Hula-Hoops, Cups, Table-Cloth Boats, and Questions, what is this a recipe for? Evaluation Preparation. Every year our membership candidates go through a process of answering questions and playing games to build up teamwork and confidence to prepare for Evaluations. The Hula-Hoop, Cup and Boat games are games that the candidates have to work together to complete. They have to be able to listen and communicate well to understand how to move on to the next phase. The Questions part is where the members ask the candidates different questions. These questions could be from the member’s history or information about the Fraternity nationally and locally. All of this games and questions prepare them for the upcoming week and future events in Kappa Kappa Psi. AEA, |

Bell September
26, 2005 Every year during summer band, the Alpha Rho chapter hosts several evening activities for the band. One annual event is the hamburger/ hotdog cookout. Several firemen from the Tahlequah Fire Department join us to at the NSU band room for this cookout. This is one of the community service activities that they perform for the locals. They provide the grill and their amazing cooking skills, while Kappa Kappa Psi provides the food and beverages. Along with the delicious food, there is also great conversation, music, and dancing. It is a chance for the band to get to know the members of KK? a little better. It has defiantly become the event the ladies of the band look forward to every year! AEA,

Phelps Alumni
Banquet The Alpha Rho chapter of KK? is putting together the 2nd Annual Alumni Banquet to be held on November 14, 2005 at the NSU Jazz Lab and the starting time at 7:00p.m. The banquet is the same day as 3rd degree so the attendees can easily go from one to the other. This year we are having an not so formal menu consisting of BBQ Sliced Brisket or BBQ chicken, baked beans, potato salad, dessert and tea. Last year was more formal and we plan to trade the menus off from year to year. The banquet is a great way to get the alumni, active, and membership candidates to interact with one another. After 3rd Degree we all will take pictures and then circle up and sing the song and the hymn, which most of our alumni did not know this since it was not created till after they became alumnus. After all the activities we go hang out one last time and say our goodbyes. Our chapter would recommend having a yearly event for the alumni to attend. AEA, |

Fousel Homecoming There were a lot of activities going on for homecoming. On the Thursday before the football game there was pep rally which the band played a couple of songs at. On Saturday morning, before the game, was the homecoming parade. The band marched as usual, the membership candidates had their banner made and two of them carried it behind the band. For the game our chapter provided jugs of water and cans of soda for third quarter. After the game we went to the fifty-yard line, which is a tradition where we sing the song and/or hymn. At the game the visiting team had a few members of kappa kappa psi, Gamma Theta chapter, came down and sang with us. Overall it was a good game and we had a lot of fun. AEA, |

Jones Meet
me at the Fifty Voices come together at the end of the game to make a powerful statement. As I go through this life and the things that throws at me. I ask God to guide my life, just like the Guiding Spirit of Kappa Kappa Psi, and my feet through this wilderness. When all the blood, sweat, tears, long days, hard work, sacrifices, tragedies and triumphs come together on the field, be it at home or away, the crowd comes to their feet and cheers on the Marching Redman, without hesitation. It is at this point then realized that it was all worth it.

Hicks Car Wash It is the first night that the members and membership candidates have gotten together to get to know each other. We started it out by telling everyone that they must perform an action after saying their name and then everyone do the exact same thing. Then the next person would choose what they would do and then we would do their thing and the persons before and so on and so forth. Thirteen members, eight membership candidates and a few alumni finally came to and end with Bryan dancing like a robot and Dustin rocking out on an air guitar. Our next game was the cow game. In this game the MC’s get together but on all fours. The rules are you cannot pick anyone up, but all they have to do is not be herded into the herding zone. The game started with all the MC’s somewhat unified but completely. Five minutes later we, the members, had all the MC’s in the herding zone. Now it was the members turn, we all interlocked arms and legs and got close….real close. So the MC’s began to try to pick the members off one at a time but it was unsuccessful. Then with some quick thinking they began to pick the members off as a group instead of one by one. They got about half of the members and then the game was called. More games followed and to close out the night with the trust fall and rainstorm. The lights were out when we started the rainstorm, by rubbing our hands together as we went around the half circle we made. Then it slowly turned to snapping of our fingers, to patting our thighs, then to slapping the floor, then back in reverse order. All this was to simulate an actual rainstorm. We ended the night by singing the hymn to the Membership Candidates. AEA, |
