The Indian
University Scholars is a rebirth of an older
scholar organization established in 1880. During this year, the original Indian
University was formed and a group of scholars known as the
Baconians were born. Our inspiration as
Indian University Scholars is drawn from our predecessors the Baconian
Scholars.
The Indian University Scholars
Society is
one of the six honor societies on the Northeastern State University Campus.
The leadership activities of this institution will focus on
historical and contemporary issues as they affect tribal groups.
