Students are encouraged to become active in professional student organizations in their respective fields (PEMM Club). A senior capstone experience is required in a social service contest. Students may elect to get involved in department activities such as the senior exercise program or the exercise program for persons with diabetes. Several faculty are involved with grants and students are frequently asked to participate. The department sponsors the National Youth Sports Program, an ongoing summer activity program for area youth. This program received a national award for 1999. |

Fall 2009 OAPHERD Conference
National Center for Employee Development Norman, Oklahoma October 8-9, 2009 Conference theme: "LIVE IT! 09" Join us at the fall 2009 OAHPERD conference at the beautiful National Center for Employee Development. This facility features excellent recreational amenities as well as a great food service. Programming is in the completion states and will be posted on the OAHPERD hompage in April. Rooms at $89.00 plus tax (single) or $129 plus tax (suite).
