Know the characteristics of: Mother Goose books, toy books, alphabet books, concept books, wordless picture books, etc.

How do authors develop literary elements in picture books?

What is the value of reading aloud?

What are the values in traditional literature?

What are the characteristics and themes found in fables, folktales, cumulative tales?

What are some illustrating techniques?

You will also answer ONE question written specifically for you.It will be based on one of the group books you read.You will not be able to prepare for this question.If you read your books, you should have no difficulty with the question.

You will also critique ONE picture book on its literary elements AND its illustration.Be sure to review the literary elements, elements of design, and artistic media.
