Welcome to NSUWe would like to welcome all transfer students to Northeastern State University. The purpose of this newsletter is to inform you of campus services and activities/events which are available for you to make your transition to NSU a positive and memorable experience. This first issue of the newsletter will include tips and information for you including a Welcome Week agenda, John Vaughan Library hours, food service hours and locations of operation, Financial Aid disbursement and loan information as well a variety of other information. Your input, comments and suggestions are welcome concerning future editions of the newsletter. Office of the First-Year ExperienceThe Transfer Student Coordinator, Suzanne Myers, of the FYE program assists transfer students to successfully transition into the academic and social culture of NSU. She provides academic and enrollment counseling for students who have not declared their major, assists with connecting you to the various NSU student services and activities, makes referrals to tutoring if necessary, and provides other services as needed. Stop in and visit with the Transfer Student Coordinator in Room 121 of the John Vaughan Library. Or call 918-456-5511, extension 2137. Recognized Student Organizations specifically for Transfer StudentsWe are interested in meeting with transfer students to discuss the possibility of chartering/rechartering student organizations specific to transfer students at NSU. Two organizations currently under consideration are Tau Sigma, an academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students, and the re-chartering of the Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Chapter at NSU. If you are interested in organizing these groups, please contact the Transfer Student Coordinator at extension 2137. Fall 2005 Schedule Sixteen Week Classes August 22-December 16, 2005
