What is the First-Year Experience Program?

The Student Success Specialists of the FYE program assist freshmen to successfully transition into the academic and social culture of NSU. They provide academic and enrollment counseling, assist with connecting to the various NSU student services and activities, make referrals to tutoring if necessary, and provide other services as they become needed. The First-Year Experience staff is waiting to help you in any way! Stop in and visit with a Student Success Specialist in the lower level of the C.A.S.E. Building (Center for Admissions and Student Enrollment). Or call them at 918-444-3253.

Hi, my name is Chris Adney. I was born and raised in Oktaha, Oklahoma, and I am a graduate of NSU. I recently graduated with my Masters Degree and I love living in Tahlequah. I like to fish, hunt, and play a little golf (even though my golf game is lacking).

Hi, my name is Jen Ford. I am originally from Tulsa, OK, where in 2001 I received my B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa. I like to karaoke and hang out with friends and family. I enjoy traveling and I went to Cozumel, Mexico for my honeymoon.

Hi! My name is Lindsey Everett. I graduated from high school in 2005 from a small town called Beggs. I started NSU the following fall and haven't left since! I was very active in many organizations throughout my time at NSU. I was a member of the President's Leadership Class, Delta Zeta, Rookie Bridge Camp, Northeastern Activities Board, Kappa Delta Pi, and several other organizations. I recently graduated with an Elementary Education degree. I plan to start working on my Masters in School Administration in the fall. I enjoy spending time outside, floating the Illinois river, playing and watching sports, being around my family and friends, and traveling. NSU was a great place to spend my college years and I'm very excited to start my career here as well! I hope NSU will mean as much to you as it does to me! Transfer Student Coordinator



I am Suzanne Myers, a graduate of NSU, and the Transfer Coordinator for NSU.  I am looking forward to assisting our transfer students and I would welcome your suggestions and comments concerning the transfer process. I have been an employee at NSU for twenty-four years and I really enjoy living in Tahlequah. I am an avid NSU Sports Fan -  Go RiverHawks!
