The Intro to Fashion Marketing Class, under
the direction of Dr. Celia Stall-Meadows, organized a fashion show
which was presented during the 2002 Employee Appreciation Week.
Approximately 500 faculty and staff members were present to view
the fashion shows.
The apparel that was modeled was provided by
13 area merchants including store from the Tahlequah area as well
as Woodland Hills Mall in Tulsa. Merchants who provided
clothing were: The Buckle, Muskogee: Dillard's, Muskogee: Edies,
Tahlequah: Express, Tulsa: Heavenly Bride, Tahlequah; Lane Bryant,
Tulsa; Lerner, Tulsa; The Limited, Tulsa; Maurices, Muskogee; NSU
Bookstore; S&V Fashions, Tahlequah; Wal-Mart, Tahlequah; and
Workman's Tahlequah.
Each class member was assigned to one of the
three committees: Model Committee, Merchandise Committee, and Set
Committee. The class members created publicity, wrote
commentary for each outfit, organized model practice sessions,
selected music, designed the stage, and visited all the stores for
model fittings. Guest commentators at the show were
students, Rachel Byrun, Jessica Hardin-O'Mealey, and Kelly Hurt.
First Lady, Pamela Williams, also commentated during the two
shows.
