WHAT IS CRIMINAL JUSTICE?
The American Criminal Justice System is composed of police, courts, corrections, and juvenile justice at the local, state, and federal levels. These components function separately and together, with the majority of activities occurring at the local level.
A Paralegal, or Legal Assistant, is an individual qualified to be employed under the supervision of an attorney to undertake substantive legal work. The Paralegal can research, analyze, and interpret legal cases, interview clients, prepare proceedings and briefs, and a number of other functions within a law office or related agency.
Northeastern provides two degree options leading to a 124 hour B.S. degree. Both involve a 39 hour major. These are:
Offered on the Broken Arrow campus, this 36-hour program is structured to provide breadth as well as an in-depth understanding of the complexities within the justice system. Admissions requirements include an earned bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university. In addition, 24 semester hours of undergraduate course work in criminal justice related work are required. Apply to the Office of Graduate Studies.
