Dr. Bill Wallace
is a NSU Professor of Speech, Director of the Communication Lab and Coordinator in the Master of Arts in Communication program. He received his Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Persuasion from Bowling Green State University in 1987, his M.A. in Speech Communication from Central Missouri State University in1978, and his B.S. in Speech Education from Southwest Baptist College in1976. He has been the Forensics Coach for several universities including Central Missouri State (1977-1978), Sterling College (1978-1982), Bowling Green State University (1982 -1984), and Concordia College (1985-1989). Dr. Wallace was appointed the Editor of the Journal of the Oklahoma Speech Theatre Communication Association for 1993 and 1994. He was also selected as NSU Faculty of the Year in Service in 1998. He has served as a reviewer for three introductory texts in Communication and one upper division persuasion text. Dr. Wallace has also presented numerous papers at professional conferences across a variety of communication issues. He served on the NSU Faculty Council from 1992-1998. |

Regan Tuttle,
received her B.A. in English with a minor in Psychology from N.S.U. in 2000. She taught at Jenks High School for 3 years for 10 th through 12 th grade, including American literature, World literature, and Pre-Advanced Placement. She is listed in Who's Who Among America 's Teachers . She is presenting at the 2005 Southwest/ Texas Popular Conference and also a graduate conference hosted by the University of Michigan this Spring. She will graduate in May of 2005 and has plans to go Oklahoma State University for a Ph.D. in English program, but is still looking at other opportunities. |
Wes LeFlore,
a graduate student in Communication, is currently teaching two sections of Speech 1113 as well as working in the Communication Lab. Wes is also an NSU Residence Assistant for Southeast Leoser, 2nd floor. He competed in high school competitive speech for 4 years and debate for three years. While in undergraduate school, Wes was involved in competitive speech and reader's theatre. He graduated with an Associate Degree from Carl Albert State College in Speech/Theatre and his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from NSU. Upon completing his Master of Arts in Communication from NSU in May of 2005, Wes plans to attend the University of Oklahoma in pursuit of a Ph.D. in communication. |
Rex Langley,
a Communication graduate student, comes from Oologah. Rex began participating in high school competitive speech and continued through his senior year of college as an active member of the NSU Forensics Team. During that time, Rex received the Outstanding Debater Award for 2003-2004. He received an Associate of Arts in Mass Communication in 2002 from Northern Oklahoma College and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication-Journalism, with a minor in Speech, from NSU in 2004. While currently working on his Masters Degree, Rex is teaching one section of Speech 1113. He plans to continue pursuing a Ph.D. and continue teaching. |
Kimberly Johnson,
assistant director of the communication lab, will graduate with a Masters in Communication in May of 2005. A 1995 graduate of Mounds High School, Kim received a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Education here at NSU. She was active in the Theatre department, as well as the NSU Forensics Team. Upon graduating, Kim was hired as the Speech/Debate coach at Charles Page High School in Sand Springs where she taught for a year. Fall 2003 found Kim teaching entry level speech as an adjunct instructor for Tulsa Community College. She began pursuing a Masters degree in the spring of 2004. In September of 2004, Kim presented a paper on the Nature and Function of Rhetoric to the Oklahoma Speech Theatre Communication Association in Edmond. Kim has been accepted to the doctoral program at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. |
Melissa Carrell,
Currently teaching her forth semester of speech here at NSU where she recieved her Bachelors of arts in Education Degree in 2003, and became teacher certified in Speech, Drama, and Debate. She will be graduating with her Master of Arts in Communication degree in May, 2005. She has been active in Theatre for sixteen years as well as possesses a strong background in Competitive speech. She is currently the Assistant Director of the Performing Arts Center here in Tahlequah and hopes to teach Speech and Drama at Tahlequah High School next school year.
