Vital Statistics
Bill is an 18 month old Chesapeake Bay Retriever who hails from Central Wisconsin. Bill was the smallest puppy in his litter, but you wouldn't know it now. He stands 28 inches tall at the shoulders and weighs approximately 90 pounds.
Retrieving
Bill works very hard at being a good retriever. He learns very quickly. Some of the commands that Bill has learned are:
He knows how to fetch and loves to fetch his training dummies, his football, and birds. He sits when he hears his whistle blown and will stay and watch his master walk away for great distances until told to come. He will also look to his master for help when he can't find his dummy. When this happens, he allows himself to be steered to where his dummy lies by what is called "hand signals." He will sit and watch for his master's hand signals to know where to go to find the dummy. In thick brush, he always uses his nose to help him find his dummies or downed game.
At Home
At home, Bill is a big, loveable lug. He likes to try for a treat at dinner time and enjoys watching TV and wrestling on the floor. He loves to play with his Pug brothers, Toody and Junior. He also likes to lay on his master's lap and snooze when given the chance. At bedtime, he is always ready to go to his crate for a good night's sleep.
