The image shows a triple helix formed by three Gly-Pro-Pro tetramers. This is very similar in structure to tropocollagen.
Examine the helical structures of an individual polypeptide chain and of the whole trimer. Note the location of the glycyl residues. Why must glycine occur every third residue?
