How is the library arranged?
For general information about the library, such as hours
and maps, visit the
library's home page. All materials
are organized by subject using the Library
of Congress Classification system. Reference materials (Spanish dictionaries
in the PC’s and PQ’s include literature resources such as The Oxford
Companion to Spanish Literature and Latin American Writers)
are located on the first floor. Journals are on the second floor and the
main, circulating collections is on the third floor.
Where do I locate books on Hispanic culture?
On the third floor in the main collection PC 4001-4977 for Spanish language
materials, PQ 6001-8929 for literature. For specific subjects, search the
Online Catalog . Books
about the countries will be in the F section on third floor. Area handbooks
prepared by the federal government are good sources of information. Examples
include the following: Bolivia F 3308.B685 1991, Brazil F 2508.B846 1998,
Chile F 3058.C5223 1994, Colombia F 2258.C64 1990, El Salvador F 1483.B55
1990.
In reference, see Culturgrams Ref. GT 150.C85 1998, Encyclopedia

Where do I locate Spanish periodicals?
Use Hispania Per. PC 4001.H7 and the Bulletin of Hispanic Studies
Per. PC 4008.B8 located on the second floor. Perspectiva Per. AP
62.P475 is written in Spanish and covers international news. Spanish media
and publications are available through the Web sites listed below.
How do I locate subjects in periodicals?
Use M.L.A. Bibliography,
Expanded Academic
Index ASAP, and OmniFile to research
topics in journals.
Where do I locate videos?
They are housed at the Reserve Desk (first floor, north entrance.).
To locate videos, search the Online
Catalog doing a boolean search on videorecording and spanish.
