Assignments and Evaluation:

á      The internship agreements must be completed and Amy's copy returned to her by the end of the first week of classes.  This is worth 10% of your grade.  One percentage point will be deducted for every day it's late (including the weekend).  It can be returned in person to Amy, scanned and emailed to Amy, or faxed to Amy at 918-458-2348.  Amy will confirm receipt and let you know if she approves your organization for a leadership internship.  If the form is not turned in by the end of the second week of classes (and other arrangements have not been made with Amy), you will be Administratively Withdrawn from the class.

á      Intern Reports are required of each intern for every 5 hours at the internship. Reports should be neat, concise, and clearly written and should make connections between the internship and what the student learned in his/her Communication Studies courses (and courses related to leadership outside of Communication Studies if applicable).  You are also encouraged to reference leadership books.  Please be specific and detailed with examples from the field and from the classroom.  No more than one intern report will be accepted in a week.  They should be sent in a timely manner; do not hold on to reports.  Do the 5 hours of internship, write the report immediately, and post it.  There should be a total of 8 reports; you will receive a zero for any reports that are not in by the end of Week 14.  Please post under the Internship Reports link and email me at aldridga@nsuok.edu to let me know you have posted it.  The average of the 8 reports is worth 40% of your final grade.

á      A final paper about your internship experience should include data from your internship reports AND application of research from your communication courses. You need a minimum of 8 pages (not including the cover page, abstract, appendix, or references).  Papers must conform to APA standards.  The completed papers should be emailed to aldridga@nsuok.edu by the last regular school day before FinalsŐ Week.  Amy will confirm receipt.  Papers received after the deadline will be counted late and one letter grade will be deducted for every day the paper is late (including the weekend).  Your final paper is worth 50% of your final grade.
