Guidelines for Assignments

 

Job Posting – Find a job (or a grad school) you would like to apply for me immediately after graduation.  If there is currently not a job opening, invent a job posting.  Bring the posting and information about the company (or university) to class.   

 

Application/Cover Letter - Should be on rˇsumˇ paper and addressed to the person who interviewed you for class.  Additionally, follow the guidelines put forward in the lecture.

 

Rˇsumˇ and References – Both documents should be on rˇsumˇ paper. Additionally, follow the guidelines put forward in the lecture.

 

Email – Email your cover letter and rˇsumˇ to the person who is assigned to interview you for class.  Additionally, youÕll need to confirm receipt of the email that is sent to you AND email an invitation for an interview.  Follow the guidelines for writing emails that are in your textbook.

 

Interviewer Questions - typed questions for the interviewee.  They should include your hand written notes from the interview.

Memo - This is a memo typed to me from you telling me whether I should hire or not hire the person you interviewed.  Give me three reasons and back them up with specific evidence.  Follow the guidelines for writing memos that are in your textbook.

 

Follow-up Letter – should be on rˇsumˇ paper and addressed to the person who interviewed you for class.  Remember, you will have a more familiar  salutation because you know what his/her name preference is for this letter.  Additionally, follow the guidelines put forward in the lecture.
