In 1984, Mai Akiba was born in Kagoshima, Japan. She went to America to study Biology after guraduating her high school, Kagoshima Gyokuryu high school. 2 years later, she changed her major to Fine Art, and her ability of art has been showed. In 2006, her watercolor was nominated in Honorable Mention on 4th Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition. This was her first award in her life as fine artist. In 2007, in 5th Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition, her watercolor entitled "Haruka" was selected for 1st Place Watercolor category. In this year, December 2007, she is going to graduate in Northeastern State University as Fine Art major. After graduation, she will back to Japan and continue her art work as fine artist.
