Environmental Management
This Bachelor of Science degree program is designed to prepare people for careers in a variety of environmental related fields including government, industrial and privately owned companies. This interdisciplinary degree is a 55 semester hour major-minor program. A Safety minor is highly recommended for students who choose to major in this program. Students will study the following areas: an overview of the environmental issues and challenges facing our nation and the world today, environmental chemistry, all major federal environmental laws, waste identification/classification, regulatory compliance and auditing, permitting, process reporting requirements (Tier II, Form R, etc.), storage and disposal options and treatment methods. An internship is available for those who qualify that offers on-the-job training. Those who wish to work for governmental agencies such as OSHA, EPA and the NRC or allied health related fields will need to take additional appropriate science and mathematics courses.
