Employer Responsibilities:

Recognize that meaningful professional experience is the primary goal of the internship program.

 

Pay at least the prevailing minimum wage for the type of work being performed by the intern (unless arrangements for an unpaid internship have been made).

 

Place the intern in an appropriate employment situation that provides an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills acquired during university studies.

 

Allow at least one on-site visit by the NSU intern coordinator.

 

Recognize that the employer plays a key role in evaluating the intern’s performance and determining the intern’s grade.

 

Agree to provide a mid-term and final evaluation of the intern’s performance.

 

1.         The intern is to be placed in an appropriate employment situation that provides   an opportunity to apply knowledge and skill acquired in finance/accounting.

 

2.         The employment situation should provide a variety of experiences and challenges.

 

3.         The employment arrangement should be mutually beneficial to the employer and             the intern.  The intern should receive sufficient training to enable him/her to     adjust rapidly and become a productive employee.

 

4.         The experience required for this internship is _________ working hours.

 

5.         The intern coordinator will make a personal visitation to the work site during the course of the internship.

 

  1. The supervisor will be asked to evaluate the intern at the midpoint and again at the end of the internship period.  The evaluations will be used to determine the final grade.
