FAQ’s

How much time will I spend on this course outside of class?
The Northeastern State University student handbook suggests students schedule TWO hours of focused, quality study time for every one-hour spent in the classroom. Therefore, for this three-hour course, you will be expected to spend an average of SIX hours per week working on projects, reading material or just studying the book. Summer classes spend FIVE hours in class each week and require TEN hours of study time weekly. This rule of thumb applies for all NSU courses. If you are enrolled in 15 hours for the semester, you will spend 15 hours in the classroom each week plus thirty hours in preparation for the classes. That is a grand total of 45 hours each week dedicated to your college work. Planning to work, spend time with family and friends? There are only 168 hours in a week…and we all need sleep!
