Dr. Lallie Scott received her BA from the University of Texas at El Paso (1985). She received her MS (1988) and PhD (1992) from the University of Utah. She has taught at NSU since 1993. In 2002, she received the NSU Faculty Circle of Excellence Award for teaching. Her main regional interest is China, a country she has visited twice. Dr. Scott teaches physical geography, landforms, weather and climate, plant and soils geography, map interpretation, geography of Latin America, and geography of East Asia. Her past research focused on soil and plant responses to heavy metals. In the future, she will research soils and viticulture in Oklahoma.
