Dr. Daniel M. Savage received his Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) in 1997. He also earned an M.A. from UCSB (1992) and a B.A. in Government from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma (1990). Dr. Savage’s teaching and research interests are in political theory. His research focuses on the political thought of American pragmatists and transcendentalists and his efforts have resulted in a book, published in December 2001, entitled John Dewey’s Liberalism: Individual, Community, and Self-Development. Before coming to Northeastern State University in 2005 Dr. Savage taught at several universities, including the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha from 1998-2002.
