Michael Rogers was born in Austin, Texas, took his BA and MA degrees from the University of Texas, and his PhD from Northern Illinois University. He teaches both halves of Western civilization and all the junior-senior level courses on Europe prior to 1700. His area of specialization is early modern Europe, with a particular focus on the British civil wars and the English Revolution of the seventeenth century. He is also faculty advisor for the Rho Gamma chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the history honor society.
