Oklahoma Research Day

Oklahoma Research Day is held annually at the University of Central Oklahoma. It is a chance for faculty and students to showcase their current research through submission of an abstract and a poster presentation. There is an awards banquet after the poster presentations and awards are given for outstanding poster presentations in Arts, Business, Education, Liberal Arts, and Sciences.

Instructions

All participants will register and all presenters will submit their abstracts by web submission only. The web submission procedure is very user friendly if instrucrtions are followed carefully. The abstracts will be printed as submitted and will not be reformatted. The last day for submitting oral and poster presentations and registration is September 30, 2005. The oral presentations are restricted only to the disciplines in Arts, Music and Liberal Arts. When participants submit the abstracts and registrations for the banquet, they will receive a computer automated reply acknowledging receipt of the form. Poster Instructions for Printing through NSU Public Relations

1. All slides must be in Power Point.
2. Slides must be the size you want printed. If you would like 36"x42", please make the slide 36"x42".
3. The plotter prints 42" wide by however long. PR does not have time to trim to size. Each person will have to do that on their own. (Please keep in mind the 4'x4' size limitations from UCO.)
4. Be sparing with the use of solid color backgrounds for the sake of ink and drying purposes.
5. Leave a 1/2 inch margin around all edges, otherwise information could get cut off.
6. One print per slide.
7. PR will not be able to edit, correct, or provide design services with power point slides.
8. File names need to be last name of the person submitting the slide and emailed as an attachment to andersel@nsuok.edu. Please have your slides printed as soon as possible to avoid time delays.
9. Remember to pick up your posters from PR, they will not be brought to UCO for you.

Bus Instructions

The poster presentations start 30 minutes earlier this year, so the bus will leave at 5:30 am from the faculty/staff parking lot across from the Field House. It will make a stop in Broken Arrow. It is a chartered bus for faculty and students. Donuts, coffee, and juice will be provided. Please encourage your students to take advantage of this gas saving opportunity! Be aware that if not enough people RSVP for the bus, we will have to cancel the bus.
