Melanie Buchleiter A native of New Mexico, Melanie Buchleiter moved to Bartlesville Oklahoma five years ago to pursue a career change before coming to NSU in April 2006 as the Proposal Development Specialist for the office of Research and Sponsored Programs. Melanie holds an Associate of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and Bachelors of Science degrees in both Business Administration and Management of Human Resources from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Currently she is pursuing her MBA at NSU. In addition to being active in a number of community and civic organizations, Melanie has held a variety of positions within the non-profit and higher education sectors in addition to owning a successful for-profit company in New Mexico. As Proposal Development Specialist, Melanie works with Kate Felzien in providing pre-award assistance to faculty members with an emphasis on propsal preparation and funding source development. Music Performance Taken at the 1st Annual Civil War Brass Band Festival in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Melanie served as the Low Brass Section Leader for the New Mexico Territorial Brass Band. Since moving to Oklahoma Melanie has not been able to join any performance groups, but has continued to play private engagements at home. She is currently looking for a group that will work around her busy work, school and family schedules.
