Chapter 1606: Selected Reserve Educational Assistance Program

This chapter provides benefits for members of the Reserve/National Guard who enlisted, re-enlisted, or extended their enlistment for a period of six years after July 1, 1985.

For sutudents receiving Chapter 1606 benefits for the first time, allow 6-8 weeks before receiving first payment. Students who have received venefits and are already in the VA database, allow 2-4 weeks before receiving payment.
