Alicia Gourd is a founding member of the Non-Traditional Student Organization. She has been an active and integral member of NoTSO since it's inception and continues to contribute to the growth and development of this organization.

Alicia contacted Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry and asked that he recognize September 21, 2004 as International Day of Peace state wide. The Governor responded by issuing an official Proclamation that did just that. NoTSO has big plans for International Day of Peace in 2005 and hopes to use this day as a focus to bring the community together. Thanks to Alicia, the State of Oklahoma has taken the first step in doing that.

Special thank you to Alicia Gourd for stepping in as Secretary when our original Secretary and founding member Charles Thomas had to resign the position due to a course load of 24 hours. This is just one example that shows that Alicia is willing to serve where ever needed for the good of all.

The Secretary takes Minutes at meetings, types and files all Minutes. The Secretary also handles general correspondence and works with other officers to properly record and archive all documents for this organization. The Secretary performs other duties as needed.

Nominations for NoTSO Secretary will be accepted in November and elections will be held in December. Make the effort to let your officers know how they are doing and what you would like to see done differently! Or, make the effort to let them know what a great job they're doing! E-mail is acceptable, but it's best to attend a meeting and make your voice heard in person.
